History
Dexter Systems was founded in 1987 by engineers with extensive experience in industrial
automation and software development. Our first product was a patented information
kiosk for the grocery industry.
In 1988, the company branched out into the telecom industry by taking on a development
project for a fiber optic research lab.
Dexter Systems took on its first telephone company mechanization project in 1989.
This project automated a multi-step manual process for processing service order
disconnects, and paid for itself within three months.
Since then, one project has led to another, each building on the success of the
previous work. To date we have delivered hundreds of custom applications for the
telecom industry. Our applications now serve four of the largest six telecommunications
firms, along with many smaller CLECS and resellers.
Starting with a small group of software engineers Dexter has grown by hiring people
with diverse backgrounds: industry specialists, programmers, engineering and math
PhD's, and database specialists. We look for people who are not only smart, but
also have the interpersonal skills to work in a cohesive team environment.
Our approach has won industry awards, led to another patent pending, and recognition
in the telecom industry as a solution company that is creative, reliable, and easy
to do business with.

years as a developer, business process consultant, and project manager.
Don has participated in the development of over 50 custom applications with Dexter,
including one that won Verizon's highest internal excellence award. He also spent

require ongoing support and enhancements after the initial deployment. As a result
Don has managed and provided enhancements for several multi-year projects.
