Backend Processing
Our most sophisticated technology is usually on the backend.
The backend does the data retrieval, data aggregation, and
number crunching.
In 1992, Dexter coined the term Host Server Architecture (HSA)
to describe the relationship of intelligent ‘agents’ that interact
with legacy applications. These agents ‘speak the language’ of
the target host and execute transactions native to that host.
The HSA enabled us to efficiently develop new applications based
on reusable code modules.
Dexter delivered the second generation of this architecture in 2001,
rewriting it in Java, and basing it on XML documents.
This enabled the agents to run on higher performance UNIX and Windows servers,
and increase the number transactions per minute.
Some of the features and services our HSA backend are:
- Enables scheduled information retrieval from hosts
- Execute update transactions in legacy mainframes
- Parses telco service orders
